After the fire at the town's only auto dealership last Monday, Stacy thought I'd taken some pretty good photos. Seems like quite a few people in the courthouse and Sheriff's office wanted to see them too so I put the better of them, original size, on a flash drive and Stacy took them over for people to see.
Yesterday I find out that the photos are making the rounds all over on-line and are being e-mailed back and form to people that already had them! And I was told that at least one had been used by our oldest weekly newspaper, The Bonners Ferry Herald.
So this morning right there on the front page is this photo. I cropped it to look as it is on the paper.
This photo was at the height of the fire on the second floor offices.
I'd also e-mail four photos to the other paper in town, Boundary County Digest that afternoon since they are a free weekly and on-line edition too. They had their story of the fire and over 150 photos on line first but missed out in this weeks print edition.
They did put my photos on also but in the section about comments about the story. They also used them as the e-mail quality I'd sent them! In thumbnail they looked OK, on enlargement they look like I had taken them with a cell phone- terrible!
Stacy and I are pretty happy about it! Of course not about the fire, although in an article on-line from the Sandpoint newspaper the owners of the dealership are already planning to rebuild with a safer, and a little more modern, offices and showroom. Article said they were fully insured and will be back up and running for car sales in a few days from temporary facilities at their lot.
I've had several photos I've taken used so far, one by Fox Weather for their news casts, an aerial photo of the local Indian Casino for a website being developed about gambling locations around the country. And another aerial shot might be used in an upcoming issue of an Idaho travel magazine. I like it! I think it is very cool to see something I did used!
Oh well, so much for the excitement this week! Tad
