Last Sunday, May 1st, I took advantage of the better but still cold weather to take some evening and sunset photos of our little town.
Although the previous weekend had been the most springlike weather to date, the workweek was back to rain, snow and highs in the 40's lows in the 20's. The day before, Saturday the 30th had been thunder stormy and very windy so that was why I was at the summit of this old road on Sunday.
Taken with my cellphone these two photos are of my camera setup and view of the town while I waited for the sun to go down a bit more, looking for the 'good' light. It was windy and still cold so I wound up not staying to after dark to get any long exposure photos, the kind that cause the car lights to become streaks. Maybe next time.

The road below in the photo above is the 'new' highway that was built in the 1990's to replace the narrow winding road that I was standing next to to take the photos. Many people walk along this old section as it was left up but blocked off to prevent vehicles from driving on it as it is no longer maintained by anyone. But it does give a good view of the town.
That same day, the first, Sandy and her husband ran a half marathon. Well, it is fun for them I guess! Sean and his wife went on another hike in his area of Hawaii and at least this time they didn't get soaked like the last time. And his eye is getting better fast from the smack he got over a week ago while working on an engine cowling.
Green, green, green, everything is going green as spring continues. That is when I think our area is most beautiful. It gets so green around here as compared to the area we used to live in back in California where it would be green in the winter and I've been told it's already getting dry like mid summer and in the upper 80's there.
Stacy has our garden plots and we'll be getting those ready to plant in the next couple of weeks. And at home I'll soon be back to the weekend mowing and weed whacking.
More later.
