For us, Winter has a last blast

Above was taken showing the 'snow line' of the area mountains. While it has still snowed a bit with some of the storms, it is light and just melts shortly after it hits the ground at our 2,300 foot elevation. The peak in this photo is about 5,000 or so. From the roof looking Nortwest at the bridge and highway 95 & 2. Cloudy and sunny today it was drizzly this morning and is supposed to be rainy, no snow, the next couple of days. Just like in 2006 though, could be problems come mid summer from the lack of snow and rain this El Ninio winter of 2009/2010.

Working on the ramp

This Photo is one of the photos I couldn't upload the other day. It shows the continuing rebuild of the Handicapped ramp on the South side of the building. The entire building sounded like it would fall apart with the jack hammer on the concrete, then with the machine to tap down the base it sounded like a Huey helicopter was hovering outside the window for hours at a time. Today they're building the forms for the cement pour in a day or two. Our windows are the four with A/C units poking out on them.

Feb. 22nd and back at work

I was pretty sick several days last week and stayed home from Thursday to yesterday except for going to the doctor on Friday. I'm feeling much better but coughing all over the place. I have a cold but Stacy and I were both concerned about congestion that was seeming to start and was waking me up at all hours of the night. The doctor said "it's not a cold, it's your allergies". Well, I do admit that allergies I never had in California have been quite a problem for me since our permanent move here, but I have a cold and we just wanted to make sure it wasn't becoming something worse. O...........K..........., then why do I have all the other 'cold' like symptoms too? He didn't have an answer, so we talk for a bit while he goes over my file (this isn't like the HMO's back in CA, you get real one on one time around here!) I get a prescription for a nose spray for my sinuses and I'm told to get some Over The Counter cold stuff and I'm

The HACK, part 2.

Well, so far it looks like the intrusion into one of our e-mail accounts might have been, for now anyway, a one time event. I got the whole short story from Sandy a day later, since she was still in Mumbai then, and found why we couldn't locate any record of a sent e-mail. Because there wasn't one! Whomever had gotten into the e-mail account had contacted Sandy via the Chat when she was active and on-line on her iPhone while in India. After I found out it had been a chat and not an e-mail like I'd lead to believe, and since we have the chats saved in Google, I was able to look it up and see it right there. A short conversation in bad spelling and grammar culminating with the person saying that a "friend" needed $500.00, and questioning whether Sandy knew who she was typing with. Luckily Sandy being pretty smart picked up really fast that the person on the other end of what was being typed wasn't anyone who should be on that account. I found out that Google kee

First off. And this is important! If any of the family and friends this blog is intended for ever gets any kind of an e-mail from one of our e-mail accounts, but one that is used for direct contact of some of you readers, and its asking for money- DON'T send it! We would NEVER ask for any money via an e-mail like that African Prince!! We would really hope you'd call and ask us about anything like that and not just send it! This all started yesterday evening when Sandy, who's in Mumbai India, got an e-mail on her i-phone she thought was from Stacy, asking for $500 for an "emergency". She thought something wasn't quite right and attempted to contact the sender. She said it went to a local (for us) person, so she called Stacy who is in Boise and Stacy called me a bit upset about it. With the other side of the world time difference, I'm hoping Sandy will get back to me today with more info about it all. Now its the next day and after changing some things, a

February 1st

Just as with the last post I wrote, Stacy is again down in Boise for meetings. This time two days of different types that she was wrangled into going for when the supervisor didn't want to go. These are some high end "department head" meetings and state wide commissioners from the state are there too. Stacy does feel a little out of place but she should do well in any event. It was winter again over the weekend, we woke up on Saturday to a light snow. It wasn't sticking then and it snowed all day without any staying on the ground. Overnight into Sunday it got cold enough and started to stay. Got almost two inches and it snowed all day yesterday too. Actually it was nice. Stacy had to drive over to Spokane (2- 1/2 hours away) for her flight to Boise and when she called she said it was slow going much of the way towards Coeur d' Alene then the snow became rain from before that area on. It is usually colder here than Sandpoint (because of the large lake there), and S
