Short Post because I'm a little short on time tonight

We've been pretty busy here the past week. Still lots of snow and still snowing right now! I've been busy driving, I was at it from 7:45 am yesterday until 12:30 am this morning because I took the High School Jazz Band to a concert down in CDA at the College. I watched them during the practice session.
Well at least they TRIED! Pretty bad, which is a little sad. I think that some of the 13 members attitudes of "at least its getting us out of school for the day" are to blame. Last school year I took the Jr High to a similar concert, it was kind of embarrassing, but they also tried! And that's one of the things about the schools up here. They still have the opportunities to try at the districts expense. Golf, Archery, Ski trips this time of year for all grades, Bowling, all kinds of activities that have long been extinct from the old California schools our kids attended.
Stacy has been putting in many days of long hours still getting her 'charges' in the system in order as well as working with several new arrivals. It is a challenge that she's enjoying dealing with.
Sad news from Laura yesterday (Monday) that her husbands mother had a massive heart attack on Sunday. Laura is trying to work out her husband going to Las Vegas to see his mother and being there to help as he can. She was supposed to be having surgery yesterday. We haven't heard from Laura today to know how things are going. We just hope she'll have a speedy and complete recovery.
Sandy is dealing with a cold and congestion and hoping she'll be in better shape by Valentines day. That's when her and Erik are going to Munich Germany for five days. Erik found some great prices on Price line and surprised her with this trip for Valentines. They've been to Germany several times the past two years and they both really enjoy the country, the scenery, and the people of Germany. I just told her to break down and get a small video camera. Pictures are really nice, but so are the occasional video clips!
That's it for this update. Hope all is well for everyone! Tad

Good Morning, I do hope that Laura's husband's mother has a good recovery from the heart attack soon. All is fine out here in Southern California now that our windstorm we had a week ago this Sunday is over just clear skies and sunny and no winds. The winds had gotten to 55-75 miles an hr it did some damage in different areas. For most of Sunday we couldn't see across the street nor see the mountains there was sand everywhere one one story I had heard about was the wind taking a camper shell from a pickup truck putting it a few yards where it had been on it's side.I am not sure how secure the camper shell was to begin with. Most of our problems were fine sand everywhere I am just now getting everything back in order at times I still can run my hand over some areas and feel the fine sand hopefully I will get it all this week.Got to run take care and a good week to you all.

Last August 3rd, the only car dealer in town, Riverside Motors had a fire destroy their offices and showroom. Above was during the fast moving 20 minute fire. Below was taken less than 15 minutes ago and shows their new showroom/offices just about ready to move into. The rubble from the burn down was gone in less than two weeks and crews worked all during the coldest part of winter building this new building. It was moved to the back of the property and cars were moved up to the front. Since the fire the 'offices' were moved out to trailers not visible in the photo but to the left of the new building. Riverside also lost the GM part of the sales and service end of it with the GM restructuring. Too bad for the owners of all the GM cars and trucks in the area, like us, we have to drive to Sandpoint to a dealer there for GM service etc. About 35 miles away now. Riverside is now just a Chrysler/Dodge dealer service location. Pretty building though! Photo below actually occurred ...

A Historic Day

Yes, one way or the other it will be a historic day today, Election Day in the USA, 2016. Either the "crooked" lifetime politician and first woman to be the president will win or the proven somewhat unstable "megalomaniac" and itching to start a war businessman will win. Personally, I voted for Clinton. A proven lifetime politician outweighs the alternative in my opinion. I heard a comment of with Clinton it will be "The Hunger Games" part one, with Trump it would be "The Hunger Games" part 2!! In our neck of the woods, early voting and absentee voting has been going on for over two months. We voted a couple of weeks ago. Above, in the lobby of the County Courthouse, four early voting stations had been set up for several weeks. 2 non the right and 2 on the left at the desk behind that sign. Below, I took a 'stealth' photo of some people voting. You never can tell in North Idaho what will set off people so I didn't want...

O.M.G.! I haven't posted since February!!!!!

I knew it has been a while, a long while. Not this long though! So, readers in the either, if there are any still around, what's been going on with our life adventure? The high points since February 2018: 1. We almost bought a new truck. 2. While we didn't finally buy a truck in late March, we traded in two-vehicles and bought a 2018 Toyota, Rav4 Hybrid, CUV ( C ompact 'sports'  U tility V ehicle). 3. We had a fantastic summer trip with the granddaughters spending 9 days in Yellowstone last July. The bunkhouse 5th wheel trailer we bought July 2017 right after our June trip in 2017, proved to be the BEST way to comfortably sleep and house the 5 of us, me, Stacy, Sandy, and the granddaughters, for a trip. 4. In August we got Stacy the one RV trailer she's been wanting for several years now, a Winnebago Micro-Minnie, a 20-foot long travel trailer that sleeps two. Stacy used it for a week-long business trip to Boise for state-level meetings just a couple of wee...
