Finally, getting caught up with things, and I get political, first time, last time, ever written.

Yes! The second photo shoot has been totally completed, all photos and videos, edited, corrected, and in the photo book and the video on DVDs and delivered to the families just last Monday (06/27/16). Finally - DONE!

"Where History Is Made Everyday!"
The above, and I'm pretty sure I have it correct anyway, used to be the "slogan?" of the satellite and cable "History Channel" years before it, like so many other channels, became 'reality TV central'.
The only reason I'm bring this up is because we are all living during a period of incredible "history making" events that will be discussed for years afterwards.

I was among the "scoffers" last year when "The Donald" went from TV personality to the out of the blue run for the White house. I do recall a skit I'd heard on a "Prairie Home Companion" show that said Trump's running was as a million dollar bet Trump had made against Bill Clinton, and since even he (Trump) couldn't believe he was winning he wanted to see how far he could go and beat Clinton and win the million bucks. The "Bill Clinton" character wouldn't call off the bet because he knew there was no way a person like Trump could EVER be elected as the president and he wanted to win the million dollar bet!
Like so many people I am amazed of his apparent success in this push. That being said, do I think industrious builder and self proclaimed multi millionaire and the best businessman the country has ever seen, Donald Trump, will be the next president of the
United States?..............................................................um, no.

It is already developing exactly as had been predicted several months ago, if it came down to a Trump, Clinton, showdown, people would jump on the Clinton train, anything to keep Trump from winning.
Trump's success, it seems obvious to me anyway, is his "no comment is too outrageous or obscene" filter that is perpetually 'off'.  I've heard he's just "saying what the average American has felt but has had no voice to say, until now", but I think were that entirely true, we, the USA, are in for a world of hurt in the future!
I like the history of Hillary being the president. First Obama, the first African American (depending who you're listening to anyway) to Clinton, the first woman president, and a long time coming too! In the history text in 2050 for sure!

Stacy does NOT like Hillary though. Honestly, I don't like any of the people that are now or have run this time around! Out of all the millions of people in the country these two are the best there are vying for the president's job? Seriously? These two? But I've always said, anymore it is no longer just the figurehead, the president, it is that persons entourage of people they've promised along for the ride to get there and the candidate's own baggage hidden from view!
I think, call it an impasse and keep Obama in office! Although I don't think he'd go for it even if it was a possibility.

Anyway, the real history of this "race," the history of the refugees, Britain pulling out of the EU, the Terrorist continuing to win the 'war' by keeping countries in disarray and even happening here with even in death, people claiming allegiance to the terrorist just to make sure they make the news.
To quote the Wicked Witch of the West as she's melting from the Water Dorothy accidently threw on her in the movie, "what a world, what a world".

It is summer, and it's hot, hot, hot!

A year ago it was record breaking heat, and this year it's still pretty hot! According to my records from last year, it was 104 this date with a low of 61. Not quite that hot this year but hot enough to be uncomfortable at 95 and it was down to 59 last night. It is predicted to get down to the 80s, "normal" is supposed to be upper 70s, by Sunday and I certainly hope it does!
A year ago on July second Stacy and I were off on our trip to California to visit with Sandy and the grandkids.
I will say it again, I do not like traveling in the summer! But what are we getting ready to do, yet again? travel in the summer, and very soon. When we're retired again, travel goes back to spring and fall!

Until next post, Tad

Just an update

It is getting more like fall to winter now in our area. All the weather forecasts give the possible snow levels and altitudes in the recordings. The temps have been in the low 50's for the past week which is the normal temp range. It has warmed up at night to the low thirties from the low twenties of last week and earlier this week. Next week it's forecasting only low to mid forties! For the high temps! In looking at photos and the older blogs, last October 27th, 2009, was the first snow of the season back then. Will it snow around the same time this year? Stacy and I are both off work next week because our daughter Laura and her son, the only grand kid so far, will be flying out this Sunday for a weeks visit. Stacy and I are really looking forward to the visit. Last time Laura was here was in the summer of 2006 for a couple of weeks. Quite a lot has changed in her little family since then! And Tyler is 4 years old now so he might do more than sleep or cry as he did last visit!...

Its Fall again!

Although the date this says 'posted' is from a while back, I'm online to type about theses photos and get this posted for you to see today, October 12th! I'd uploaded these and the next post couple of photos fully intending to get right back to it in a day or so, it just didn't happen like that. Stacy's father took a trip to California to visit family out there and since he was gone (he's getting back tomorrow night) we've been very busy working at home as well as stuff going on at work. So it's been busy, busy, busy! Stacy left this morning to fly to Boise for meetings (again!) and will be back late tomorrow too. On to these photos; top one is actually on our property, just out back in the forest. The fern was just going yellow to gold then, on this fall morning, it is really golden and rust browns now just a couple of weeks later. Middle photo is a road a little over a mile away in the early evening that I liked with the late day sun on the Aspen ...

I can't say I'm on a roll just yet, but here's a new post!

So, to continue with last weeks story. In August, Stacy finally got the trailer she's been wanting all along. Yes, while I like the larger, around 28 to 30 foot or so, RVs, Stacy has kept the idea that smaller is better. Smaller can go pretty much anyplace you'd want to camp and our 5th wheel, at 34-feet long, while it can go most places, it can't go 'anyplace' due to the length. When we got the 5th wheel in July 2017, I was surprised Stacy was willing and even suggested, we go for it trading in our 33-foot travel trailer to get the Jayco. Again, the "Wildcat Maxx" was a nice travel trailer. It had made several short and two long trips in the almost two years we'd owned it. We lucked out as in an era of the rapid assembly to make the crazy sales numbers the RV industry has been having, the Wildcat was "completed on a Wednesday by happy Amish at the factory" as we didn't have any of the build issues I still read about from the appar...
