This past week was our annual trek for the juvenile justice conference. This year it was in Boise again as it was three years ago.
Boise was hot and humid all week with a lot of smoke from several fires in the general area.
This was Stacy's year as the President of the organization so she was at the helm and had to give several speeches and introductions to a room with over 250 people in it!
Can you say STRESSED!
But even with the stress the overall comments were all very positive to all that Stacy had organized for the week.
I was able to get a lot of good photos of the activities and classes. I also used my iPad and a time lapse application and made several videos of activities during the event. A good show that we are glad it's over for the year!
Next year is Stacy's last year as a board member and she'll be a past president. So 2015's convention is at this point very iffy for us to be attending. I personally have some other things I'd like us to be doing at other events that occur around the same time frame as the conference. We will see!
Back at home and we are at siege with the hornets and wasps I had mentioned in the last post. Even with all the traps we've set up, and the traps have been filling up, we aren't making a dent in the population of those insects. The forest still is literally a buzz and you can stand and watch continuous lines of insects as they go back and forth from the ground to the higher sections of the trees that must have their nests hidden in them, and back down again. Almost looks like freeways!
And me? Well Friday morning I went to an appointment with the doctor I'll have from now on and got yet another check on my balance problem. He also agreed with the results I've received earlier about the diagnosis of BPPV as the root of my problem. And yes he also said that it will get better as it will and can last quite a while. But luckily for me I have improved, FINALLY!
Although I'm still having the occasional problem with balance when walking, I'm good enough to be driving again. Now, Stacy was very skeptical about my saying I thought that I felt good enough to drive and tested me quite a bit before letting me drive a portion of our way home on Thursday from Boise. I am glad that I can again drive and drove myself to my doctors appointment on Friday.
But at least I no longer feel like I was never going to get any better.
Until next time.
