The E-bay clock is ticking.............

And counting down to a little over an hour from now when I hopefully will have won a new (used) radio for my Gold Wing! I found it over the weekend with a ending time today. So its only been a 5 day wait. If I can get it though, as long as it works, at least it isn't supposed to be fried! So any minor working problem could now, worst case, at least still be fixed for less than the price of a brand new unit at $1,100.00.
Everything else is going well. Stacy and I are both over our holiday colds. The weather has stayed comfortably warm for the most part, not hot here in Northern Idaho. The South end of the state like Boise or Pocatello, are dry and hot and we've seen stories of fire concerns of fires like in California.
We bought a DaeWoo brand A/C unit for my office since it didn't have one and being on the upper floor of a 1930's building, an south facing large window, it was getting TOASTY!
It worked quietly and well- until last Thursday. Then it would run for 3 to 5 minutes and beep flash and stop. Although sold in the area there are no service areas in any of the three adjoining states, unless I want to drive to Seattle anyway. So plan B. Got a new Haier unit, and the DaeWoo will go back to Costco and be exchanged for a larger unit for our bedroom. Gotta be able to change plans!
Well that's this update. Got to go back and check My E-bay!
Till next time, Tad.

It looks like our first non-white Christmas since moving to North Idaho.

As I had said the last post, while winter is here now, it just isn't here ! Two hours north, in the Cranbrook, Canada region, cold and snow. About two-hours east, in the Kalispell, Montana area, winter is there too with cold and snow! This area, more like late fall continued with overcast and cloudy with temps in the low 30s at night and high 30s in the daytime. Maybe some rain in the next day or so or a trace of snow overnight to melt away with the "high" temps for what used to be normal for this time of the year. Last week if the temps had not gone into the 40s with heavy rain by Saturday we would have some snow but the temps and the rain washed it all away. I checked with my records from last year and on December 23rd we had gotten 4-inches of snow. Not much but still a white Christmas. Christmas Day we had heavy snow showers but not much new accumulation. This morning the low was 33 degrees with a high expected to be 36 degrees. Sad face! I like the winters her...

So, Winter Decided It Wasn't Done Quite Yet Around Here!

After last weeks post of me talking about the somewhat short winter so far, it got cold! I mean really cold over the weekend, like two mornings with the lows of +8 (-13C) and +9 (-12C) and 'highs' around 25 (-3C). No one I had talked with thought it would be that THAT cold again this season! Then last night, 02/13/18, there had been a "Winter Storm Watch" issued for the time period of 10 PM Tuesday to 12 noon Wednesday for "up to" 11 inches of snow. Luckily, we didn't get anything near that with about 4 inches overnight and the snow stopped around 10 am and warmed into the mid-30s during the day so what had fallen had begun to melt, clearing off the roads and walkways but staying on the grass. However, for its last blast, we still could get a few more inches of accumulation between now and next Sunday the 18th. Then, the long-term forecast has the daytime temps going back into the mid to upper 30s again in about a week. We'll see! On Monday t...

First posting

Ah the choices of setting this up! It will take a little time to 'fine tune' the page, but its a start. Okay so what have we been doing? Well, two weeks ago now Stacy and I went to visit with Mike and Brenda to see their new home as well as visit with my Father and Mother who were visiting. We had to work around Stacy's days off so it was a three day visit with one day there and two travel days. All the storms flooding and disaster in the Seattle area happened right after we'd left. It was a great visit and we really like the new home. I haven't been able to see any of them since last year so I really liked the visit and getting together again. We got the grand area tour which was nice since I'd never spent any time in that part of the state before. The area is very picturesque. Mike's home is very near the flight paths of the area navy base and that brought back memories of our home in California. The first few years we lived there George A.F.B. was still ...
