I'll try this again

Last Friday the 27th, I spent a couple of hours including interruptions, working on a blog post. Almost done, and with another interruption as I'm reaching across the keyboard I accidentally hit a key, not delete, don't know which one was the problem except it was on the left side of the keyboard, but the one I hit and "POOF" all that work was reduced to a single 'm'. What happened? Don't have a clue. I even tried the auto save copy on the list of posts, but it was all gone but that 'm'. So to a new post. Still snowing after all this winter.... Saturday I used the quad with the snow blade and got rid of the pile of snow and ice that had been blocking in the Solstice. Got it down to the ice layer with the blade and then used the chains on the wheels of the Polaris to break up the ice layer in hopes it would melt a bit faster. Everything was looking good and I had plans for driving it again starting on Monday, looking forward to it since it hasn'

Spring sprung at 4:44 am Pacific time & early travel memories

Today is predicted to be the warmest day of 2009 so far, around 50 degrees! grab your short pants and Hawaiian shirts! OK................, so not that warm just yet. Tonight is the FINAL episode of Battlestar Galactica. I agree with many that for most its run it has been one of the best shows on TV. I've got all the DVD's and am curious to see what exactly will happen. The Galactica is 'falling apart' from all of it's use, in the very first show it was to be a museum in space, much like an old aircraft carrier. And all of the crews are in such a great general despair, what to do since after all was said and done Earth when found, was a blown up nuclear wasteland much like what they'd all run away from. It will be interesting to see. And NOTHING like Galactica 1980 when it was tried and they'd gotten to Earth after the first incarnation of the original series from the late 1970's. Don't remember them? You can see some of either show mentioned on HU

More Odds and Ends of stuff

Friday the 13th, what better day to write about some little things that have been happening. Is it going to be Spring soon? I'm REALLY looking forward to some spring like weather so the snow will melt and I can drive the Solstice and motorcycles again! The last couple of days have been beautiful, clear blue skies, no clouds, and even before the Daylight Savings time change it was getting lighter every day. On the news it was said that we're getting about 3 minutes of more sunlight each DAY. With the change its already light until about 6:30 pm and starting to be light in the mornings about 6:00 am. By June that light in the morning will be starting around 3:30 am! Ah, but as clear and beautiful as its been it is still COLD! Right this moment 10:30 am when I'm starting this, its very sunny and 32 degrees. Still snow and ice in lots of places. The last few mornings have been record breaking cold, some records since the 1800's, like two mornings of +4 degrees at our house

Winter isn't over just yet!

Above was taken a week ago on March 1st. Still a lot of snow! Also on March 1st, the Solstice all covered and stuck behind the snow and ice pile. About another month before I can drive it again. Taken this morning, March 8th, the new snow from yesterdays storm on the trees. So yes, winter still hangs on. It is sunny today, but also only 23 outside right now. Yesterday Stacy had her second of two classes on quilting and she was able to finish her project last night. With the weather not much else going on right now. I'll add more soon! Tad
