July 22, 1939 to July 25, 2008

Those dates represent the lifespan of my mother. She past away last Friday after being in a hospital in Eureka California for over a week. She'd been in generally poor health the past decade or so. She had breathing problems from all her years of smoking, she'd started as a teen, and finally it was from her own bad lungs and all the medications she was taking that was too much for her body. She took some of the meds to breath easier, but they caused weight problems for her and didn't allow her enough breath to ever really exercise to try and stay a little fit. I'd talked with her about a week before and she was in good spirits, just tired of feeling like she was going to throw up all the time from a medication 'adjustment' her doctor had done about two months before. She had been scheduled for another appointment to address that problem in just a few days. Didn't happen though. During the night of July 15th, she had a lot of difficulty breathing. Chris wante

I was SNIPED AGAIN!

I'm sorry, but it sucks! I can easily see why I keep reading about people staying away from the open auctions in droves because of the snipers. This time I'm on line and waiting. Still the top bid by over $40.00 after 5 days and refresh at 4 Minutes, 3, then 2, then 1. Refresh at LESS than one minute fully expecting to see "you've won" and instead, I'm outbid by $2.50. Quick, click to increase bid! Up it $50.00 to have a good margin, click confirm and then it comes back- you've been outbid and lost because biddings closed! I would have won it by about $15.00!!!!!!!!! Oh well, I'll keep looking for a "buy it now" or see if one of the parts requests I've sent out come back with an available used one. Otherwise next month we'll spend the big bucks and just get a new one. I think that's why I shop for most stuff on Amazon, or look for the best price with those Buy it Now sections. I can only think of a very few, maybe three or four

The E-bay clock is ticking.............

And counting down to a little over an hour from now when I hopefully will have won a new (used) radio for my Gold Wing! I found it over the weekend with a ending time today. So its only been a 5 day wait. If I can get it though, as long as it works, at least it isn't supposed to be fried! So any minor working problem could now, worst case, at least still be fixed for less than the price of a brand new unit at $1,100.00. Everything else is going well. Stacy and I are both over our holiday colds. The weather has stayed comfortably warm for the most part, not hot here in Northern Idaho. The South end of the state like Boise or Pocatello, are dry and hot and we've seen stories of fire concerns of fires like in California. We bought a DaeWoo brand A/C unit for my office since it didn't have one and being on the upper floor of a 1930's building, an south facing large window, it was getting TOASTY! It worked quietly and well- until last Thursday. Then it would run for 3 to 5 m

We're sick on the 4th!

So it's the 4th of July. The weather has cooled, YAY. For a few days we hope. Thunderstorms and hail last night, overcast, breezy and comfortable today. It would have been a great day to work outside except Stacy and I are both sick with head colds. We barely made through yesterday at work and so today has been a sleeping and TV day. Yes, I was finally hired on at the Probation Department. So for the next few years I'll be working again. 8 to 5 Monday to Friday. More money for social security when we'll need it. Its the fourth, but the town isn't having any fireworks this year as the Chinese earthquakes a few months ago destroyed this towns, along with others I'm sure, 4th of July celebrations. Last post I'd talked about my radio from my motorcycle. Well, turns out is was fried. The computer is so bad it can't be replaced. It was sent back so I can get any reusable parts and then its junk. Stacy had found the model I have on e-bay and for 3 days I thought I&
